Altitude Is the Real Gate
Yading tops out at 4,700 m. Spend a night in Daocheng town (~3,700 m) to acclimatize first; carry oxygen and glucose, and descend immediately if you get severe headaches or vomiting.
Tickets & Timing
Admission plus shuttle is about ¥270; in October, book ahead on the official platform. The electric cart from Luorong Pasture toward the lakes costs extra, around ¥70.
Weather & Layers
Weather shifts fast. A windproof shell, warm mid-layer, and sunscreen are non-negotiable; UV is brutal, so sunglasses are a must.
