⚠️ Pitfall Tips
Save money, time & hassle
Gate Ticket Required
The mountain entry ticket is about ¥135 in peak season (less off-season). ID may be checked at the gate and temples — keep it handy.
Go Early; Skip Pricey Incense
Wuye Temple is busiest for wishes — go at dawn when it is calmer. Free incense is provided inside; ignore the overpriced bundles sold at the gate.
High Altitude, Big Swings
The terraces run a dozen degrees cooler than Taihuai Town — bring a warm layer even in summer. Rain arrives without warning; keep a jacket and umbrella handy.
Peak-Season Traffic Limits
On May Day, National Day and the 1st/15th of the lunar month, traffic is huge and private cars are often restricted. The park shuttle bus is the stress-free way in.
Check Vegetarian Meal Times
Monastery dining halls serve at fixed hours — ask ahead if you want to join a guest meal, and double-check opening times at vegetarian restaurants.
