- Tianzhu Mountain rises near Qianshan City, its main peak reaching about 1,489 meters, and is renowned for the granite peak forest dominated by the pillar-like Tianzhu Peak, a column said to prop up the sky.
- The classic route from the South Gate passes the Mysterious Valley and Alchemy Lake to the summit — about 12 kilometers with a gain of roughly 1,000 meters.
- Odd peaks, strange rocks, cloud seas and historic stone inscriptions blend into grand scenery, most colorful in autumn.
- A few steep pitches call for using your hands; many hikers take the cable car to save strength before summiting, finishing in one or two days.
