Reachable areas include the Glacier Park at 4,506 m via cable cars: the big cable car (Glacier Park), middle (Maoniu Meadow) and small (Yunshanping). At the foot, Blue Moon Valley glows turquoise like a fairyland. Plan a full day; guard against altitude sickness and carry oxygen.

Cable Lower Stationabout 820 m (straight line) from the previous stop · JunctionTake the shuttle to the Ganhaizi Grand Cable Car station; the cable car rises nearly 1,200 m in about 20 minutes straight to the Glacier Park viewing platform (4,506 m). Step out to glaciers, snow peaks and a sea of clouds: Shanzidou is right before you and a glacier tongue reaches down at your feet. View from the boardwalk platform and acclimatize. About 1.5 hours. Why this route: the grand cable car goes straight to the glacier, the most direct way to get close to the snow mountain — the 4,506 m snowfield scenery is breathtaking.

Why this route: the snow mountain looks gentler from Yunshanping, with rich layers of meadow, forest and peaks — ideal for hikers and photographers.
