Qinhu Lake Wetland Park, a 5A attraction in Qintong Town, Jiangyan District, Taizhou, Jiangsu, is a classic freshwater marsh of the middle and lower Yangtze. Vast lake waters mirror the sky, raised-field plots (duotian) dot the landscape, reed-lined channels meander through the marsh, and Père David's deer graze the shallows. Glide across the lake by boat, drift through the reed maze on a bamboo raft, explore the wetland science museum, then finish with the old water town of Qintong and its famous eight lake delicacies, river crabs included. The Qingming Boat Festival adds a grand spectacle each April. Allow half a day to a full day.
