    Take the sightseeing bus to the dock and board a boat: cliffs rise sheer on both sides of the gorge, and emerald water winds for dozens of miles; cruising through feels like entering a gallery. About 40 minutes. Why this route: the boat ride through the gorge is the first shock of Baquan Gorge, with gorgeous lake-and-cliff views.

    After disembarking, take the cableway up to Yuhuang Peak: the cable car crosses a deep valley, and from the summit you can gaze at the endless Taihang peaks and the gorge like a thread. About 1.5 hours. Why this route: from the lake surface to the mountaintop, only a three-dimensional view makes the gorge complete.

    Follow the ridge walkway to Sky City: a 208-meter cliff elevator (one of the world's tallest cliff elevators) descends straight to the valley floor, with a glass viewing platform along the way. About 1 hour. Why this route: riding a hundred-meter cliff elevator down, heartbeat and scenery together.
