Sun Yat-sen Mausoleum Guide

Real coordinates · smooth curved route
Nestled on the southern slope of Purple Mountain in Xuanwu District, Nanjing, the Sun Yat-sen Mausoleum is the resting place of Dr. Sun Yat-sen, completed in 1929. Built into the hillside and facing south on a perfectly symmetrical central axis, it unfolds in sequence through the Bo'ai Archway, the cedar-lined tomb avenue, the Mausoleum Gate, the Stele Pavilion, the 392 stone steps, the Sacrificial Hall, and the Tomb Chamber — white walls, blue-glazed roofs, and towering pines. Hailed as one of the finest modern architectural ensembles in China, it is open to the public free of charge; allow about two hours on foot.
