Dongchong-Xichong Coastline

Route Introduction

• Shenzhen's classic coastal traverse, from Dongchong beach over rocky headlands and boulder fields to Xichong beach — about 6 km with 400 m of ascent.
• Sea-eroded caves, giant wave-cut rocks and turquoise water make a stunning backdrop, with sea breezes all the way and no shops or water along the route.
• Rock scrambling calls for grippy gloves and shoes with good traction; sections become impassable at high tide, so check the tide table before starting, apply sunscreen generously and carry your own water.
