Jiuhua Mountain Back Ridge

Route Introduction

  • The back ridge of Jiuhua Mountain refers to the ancient climbing route on the Qingyang County side, leading to the main peak Shiwang at about 1,342 meters.
  • From Zhubei Town the stone steps thread past Cuifeng and Tiantai toward the summit — about 15 kilometers with a gain of some 1,400 meters.
  • Temples hide among the forests, bells and drums mark the passing hours, and cloud seas and Buddha's light appear from time to time; far quieter than the crowded front slope, it feels deeply serene.
  • The long, steep stairway demands solid fitness; split it over two days and carry ample food and water.
