Mount Hua Traverse (Yuyuan Temple–West Peak)

Route Introduction

  • Starting at Yuyuan Temple at the foot of the mountain, climb to North Peak via the Qianchi Chuang, Baichi Gorge and Canglong Ridge, then continue to West Peak—about 15 km with roughly 2,000 m of ascent.
  • The route is famous for sheer cliffside paths: the Plank Road in the Sky and the Hawk Flip are thrilling, nerve-testing highlights.
  • Sunsets from West Peak and sunrises from East Peak are unforgettable.
  • Steep stone steps demand solid fitness; plan two days, stay overnight on the mountain, and carry plenty of water, snacks and a headlamp.
