- The classic route descends from Paiyun Pavilion through Rings One and Two to the canyon floor and back — about 8 kilometers round trip with a cumulative gain of some 800 meters, mostly on cliff-hugging boardwalks and dizzying stone stairs.
- Peaks rise like carved blades and clouds churn through the gorge, making this the wildest, most spectacular stretch of Huangshan.
- The effort is heavy, though a valley-floor cable car can spare you the climb back; vertigo-prone hikers should be cautious.
