Lichuan Tenglong Cave, a national 5A scenic area on the outskirts of Lichuan City, Enshi Prefecture, Hubei, is one of the largest explored karst caves in China and a world-class super cave. The cave system stretches 59.8 km in total, with about 8 km open to visitors, and comprises a dry cave and a water cave. Its entrance, 74 m high and 64 m wide, ranks among the largest cave mouths in Asia. Inside, the colossal dry-cave hall is big enough for a helicopter to fly through; it hosts a laser light show and the Tujia song-and-dance performance Yishui Lichuan. The water cave is an underground river fed by the Qingjiang, toured by boat. Outside, the spectacular “Wolong Tunjiang” (Dragon Sinking into the River) sight awaits. The full tour takes about 3-4 hours.
