Qu Yuan's Hometown Guide

Real coordinates · smooth curved route
Qu Yuan's Hometown Cultural Tourist Area crowns Phoenix Hill in Zigui County, Yichang, Hubei — a national 5A attraction facing the Three Gorges Dam across the Yangtze, barely 600 metres away in a straight line. Centred on the Qu Yuan Temple, it brings together the poet's legacy, Dragon Boat Festival customs and relocated gorges dwellings. This is the birthplace of Qu Yuan and of the festival's living traditions: climb the hill for a close view of the dam, read 'Li Sao' and 'Ode to the Orange Tree', and feel the spirit of a poet whose words have shaped Chinese culture for over two millennia. The whole route is walked on foot in about 2–3 hours.
